在过去半年的太空生活中，神舟十七号飞船乘组按计划完成了多项科学实验与技术试验，以及多次航天员乘组出舱活动和应用载荷出舱任务，飞船上的测控和通信正是通过西安分院研制的中继终端与中继卫星配合完成的。
在神舟十八号飞船上，西安分院研制的中继终端以及为中继卫星研制的有效载荷将继续搭建“太空天路”，实现飞船与地面通信的畅通无阻，确保地面测试人员实时掌握飞船的飞行状态。
